Tamara Pelton

Gentle Yoga

Hi my name is Tamara Pelton.  I have been practicing yoga for over 9 years and became a teacher 4 years ago. I have been teaching many styles in various locations but my home studio is Studio 44 in Brockville. I love the practice for many reasons but mainly for the balance it brings my life. The practice is of self-exploration and that is what draws me to my mat everyday. We are here to unfold to grow and to find our true selves with each beautiful breath we take.

CLASS

Jody Marsolais

African Drumming

Drumming has been used to unite, uplift and inspire teams for thousands of years. The drum is an ancient tool of communication and community building. In Africa and in many other cultures around the world, before any major tribal decision is made, the community gathers together at the center of the village to make music. This joyous making of music breaks down barriers and creates a sense of unity, thus enabling communities to become more effective in their decision-making.

Drumming is meditative and brings us to a state of no-mind. It induces a state of peacefulness where anxieties and stress fade through the act of drumming. Drumming can empower the self to open doors, and become inspired. The roots of drumming and music itself run very deep, and it is therapeutic, both physically, mentally and emotionally. Drumming may be used to combat stress, anxiety and burn-out in the workplace, in addition to a variety of other settings

Jody's passion for music launched him into a full time career as a music instructor and workshop facilitator. He provides services to retirement homes, daycare centers, corporations/agencies, churches and schools.

At the age of five, Jody's zeal for music and performing began. Jody would attend his mom's performances at various events such as receptions and gatherings. Terry, his mom, began to introduce him to various instruments. Since then, Jody has become proficient at percussion, drums, and guitar.

Quantum physics, philosophy, creative visualization and meditation resonate with Jody's spirit. From these teachings, his desire has become rooted in the understanding that healing can be achieved through a variety of sound modalities. The holisitic workshops that he teaches have proven to be inspirational as the audience experiences a sense of peace and wellness through the soft sound of crystal singing bowls and meditation.
